With one of our programs, you can fulfill your goals in a variety of ways including art, sport AND combat martial arts.  Our programs are structured so that the every student knows what they must learn and how they must behave in order to get there next belt promotion. The most important effect this has on the student is they learn that disciplined and dedicated effort ALWAYS brings positive results.  This kind of mindset ensures a prosperous school, work, and social life more than any other factor.

Tae Kwon Do is the Korean striking art of self defense which literally means “foot-hand-art” and contains both traditional and modern styles.  Hap Ki Do is "The Art of Coordinated Power," and consists of flowing, circular motions incorporating kicks, throws, joint-locks and punches.  These two styles have evolved into the most popular forms of martial arts in the world and is the basis for our traditional Tae Kwon Do program.  No other school in the area teaches traditional Tae Kwon Do.  Most teach the sport only.  Traditional Tae Kwon Do also includes strong discipline, etiquette and training regiments.

Contrary to what some may tell you, Tae Kwon Do is NOT over 2000 years old!  The word Tae Kwon Do did not even appear anywhere until about 1955.  However, like all other martial arts, it was developed with influences from other arts but the heaviest influence is by far Japanese Karate.

Our Kids program (ages 12 & under) has the discipline, respect and training regiments of traditional Tae Kwon Do, but follows the sport rules of the art.  Why?  Kids are too young and do not have enough physical control to train in practical self defense such as joint locks, face punches and throws.  The sport is a great basis to get them started into the traditional Tae Kwon Do.  Therefore we work on proper basic techniques, focus, mental toughness and respect.  With these basics, the child develops confidence which is the first step of self defense.

Combat Jujitsu, is a stand up and ground submission art using three levels of fighting: standing, kneeling, and groundwork. The system comes from the Japanese traditional system of Hakkoryu Jujitsu. Using various throws, joint locks, and holds, one learns to bring an opponent into a total state of submission.  This system is for those that want to learn ONLY combat and street self defense.  This program is ONLY available for juniors (ages 13-17) and adults (ages 18 & older).
